182 in a Blink

by Chris McGinty (According To Whim .com)

The year is half over. Yep. 182 days, and then a half a day, and the year is half over. This occurs on July 1 each year at the turn of noon, or at midnight on July 2 on leap years. Exciting, huh?

So, I guess the question is what we have each done with the first half of our year. I think I’ve worked most of it. Ok, maybe the better question is what we will do with the rest of our year. I think I just asked two questions without forming questions.

For my part, I have looked at what I failed to do in the first half, and am course correcting. I speak of this a lot. Having a lot of checkpoints throughout the year to see what is on schedule and what isn’t.

I don’t have any answers today, or any advice, though wait until Tuesday and Thursday. I have plenty. It’s the blog post I started for today that ended up being over 3,000 words, and has left me writing this boring crap.

That is actually one of the course corrections I am doing. I was writing in a lot of different generic files that were just filled with whatever I happened to write at that moment. It was very unorganized.

Some of them have complete blog posts in them that I need to find and post. I’ve started going though and organizing the random writing into proper files, while keeping up with my new writing for the day.

And that’s about all I have to say this morning. Enjoy that holiday that is happening tomorrow, and perhaps take a moment to reflect on the first half of your year, and maybe to plan for the second half.

Sheesh. What a boring blog post…. Maybe I should have slept first.
