This may be pathetic to do a summary of a flash fiction story, but I’m not sure it’s a good idea.
The thought is that someone invents an elixir that literally makes humans immortal and competing industries try to suppress it.
Then it becomes a political issue because the religious right believes the Bible is proof that God wants us to die (that came out wrong) even though the people who are preaching it the hardest are still asking for your money, while accepting God’s gift of immortality that, for some reason, He wants for them.
Then ultimately the mass population dies off for some reason that could have been avoided if they’d all taken the elixir, and the only people who survive are the billionaires, because while dividing the public and denying the elixir to the poor, they all took it. But they end up killing themselves because they have to actually farm to eat.
Like I said, maybe not that good of a story idea.
