Flash Fiction: Hahaha

by Chris McGinty

It wasn’t funny. That was for sure. But he laughed and laughed. This was how sanity ended, not with a roar, but a hahaha.

He was staring into the face of that dragon who was about to eat him. He had no escape. This was how death came. Not with a bite, but a breath of flame. Hahaha.

The dragon looked at him inquisitively. He wasn’t sure how he could tell. The dragon’s face wasn’t exactly human. It was curious though. He was sure of it. He opened his mouth and laughed harder as though making a plea to make the death quick. Hahaha!HaHaHA!

The dragon seemed to smile at this. It stuck its tongue out. This was it. He was going right down the throat and that would be it. Instead, the dragon licked his face, turned, and took flight into the sky. The flapping of the wings was loud and intense, but he was sure he could hear another noise as the dragon flew away. Hahaha.
