Squeezing in one more trip right after Christmas. I really wanted to have a Holiday in the Park with the whole family at night to see the lights but it just didn’t happen. We arrived at noon and left at 4pm. Again, it seemed to just keep filling up as the day went on with people coming to see the lights at night.
I made sure to bring my headphones this time as my ride time gets smaller and smaller. For the four hours we were there I rode one ride. It’s not that I couldn’t but I didn’t want to ride kid rides so I just had a seat and let the kids have the fun. Guess I’m getting old.
I’m really seeing some basic infrastructure improvements around the park. I guess when they decided to invest in Tormenta, they felt the need to get the rest of the park in shape. I’m seeing fresh paint, new landscaping, and they have replaced the entire outside of the building on the last hill/drop of the Mine Train… that thing was rotting bad. One thing I don’t like is that I am seeing them clearing away alot of the overgrowth around the park. I feel the overgrowth (dense foliage) gave the park it’s character and they are clearing alot of it.
We ate at Johnny Rocket’s again and it was ok (not as good as last time) and I was able to use my paper cup refill like 5 times this trip. My first refill, they gave me a regular cup so that’s a bonus.
this brings my 2025 trip count up to 5. I am definitely getting my money’s worth out of the passes.
However… It appears that the park is not going to be open on the weekends in the Winter. This was my favorite time to go thanks to the low crowds. I hope they decided to go ahead and open it.
