Flash Fiction: Automation Crash

by Chris McGinty

The hover car was going to crash. It was self driving and he found himself in a trolley car scenario and the car chose to crash him. He tried to disengage the auto pilot, hoping to gain control before impact. The disengagement didn’t work. There was nothing left for it. He only had time to think about how he would have chosen not to use an autonomous vehicle before the standardization. He may have lived longer if he had that choice. He had no choice now.
