My plan is to try to get three weeks of the blog scheduled. I talked yesterday about how that seemed to be difficult to do, because sometimes I don’t want to write pointless nonsense. What I believe is that if I have a good enough lead on the material that I post that I will be able to sit down with all the time I have to devote to writing and create something good.
I also wondered about how that would work if I managed to get to three weeks scheduled in advance and then over the next two weeks I only get one post written every other day, because I’m trying to write something good. Wouldn’t I just find myself in the same place where I’m rushing to get something posted so that I don’t lose all of my lead?
I’m willing to try it to see if it works out or not. Maybe I just occasionally have to do some quicker pieces while I write the good stuff. I know the biggest advantage is if I can’t get to writing until 11:45 pm on a given night that I can take a few hours to write and not have to “get something in” before midnight.
It’s amazing how I can have something posted for the day, have something scheduled for the next day, and still not manage to write something in the time available that’s worth reading. Maybe I’m being too picky about what I write or what I consider good enough to post. I’ve said it before that I would hate for something like this to be the first thing someone read of my writing. There are hundreds of better examples of my writing, so I would hate if someone read one of the complete duds.
Chris McGinty is a dud. That is to say that Chris McGinty is a dude who blogs.
