Don’t worry. The doctor just wants to help you. It’s in the doctor’s best interest to keep you alive as long as possible. The doctor might stick metal into your body to numb the pain of the real torture devices that await you, but these wounds the doctor plans to inflict are all to make your life better. You can be rest assured.
This won’t hurt. The doctor would never lie to you. The doctor might mean that it won’t hurt as much as not treating it would hurt, just in case you’re wondering why it does seem to hurt. It’s all for the betterment of mind and body, health and longevity. Pain management is what we all want, and the doctor will provide. Compared to life unprotected, this won’t hurt at all.
This isn’t to say that the doctor loves you. That might go too far to say. When you think about it though, who else ever in your life has ever done so much for you? You’re not special, but the doctor keeps you going long after you should have expired as though you really were someone important. The doctor does all this for you and you will be forever grateful. It’s only fair. No, it’s not love; but really, what else would you call it?
