I hung out with Miguel yesterday. I actually took him to a doctor’s appointment, but we did go to the toy section of a Wal-Mart at some point, so I think it counts as hanging out. To avoid HIPAA violations, I won’t explain what the nature of the appointment was, but the worry was that he might be in too much pain to drive afterward. I think he would have been fine, but it was fun to spend four hours in the car (the appointment was pretty far from his house) and talk film and music and penis. Just a typical conversation.
In order to do this, I had to take a brief nap after work and then go pick him up. I was expecting to have the night off from work, but it turned out I had to work. By the time I got home, I had enough time and energy to catch up with yesterday and then I went to bed uncharacteristically early. That leaves me writing today’s posts today even though I wanted to be scheduled well in advance by now.
I think I’m going to try something next time I guard. Using the dictation app is way more effective when I can fix mistakes as I go. I’m thinking about trying to dictate one blog post every half hour that I’m guarding. This will give me 24 blog posts. While I’m sure most of them will be pretty terrible, it will give me material to use going forward until I get my writing schedule better worked out.
