This might seem like a narrow and niche discussion, but I think I’m going to be doing a lot of posts about it, so I’m going to create a link hub. I’ve been trying to find a use for Chat-GPT in my life. It’s not happening.
I started using Chat-GPT a couple of weeks after it came out. I bought into the hype around it. I expected some amazing things. I think if AI is doing amazing things, then it’s because the useful AI hasn’t been offered as a consumer model, or everything is hidden behind the pay wall. I would be way more likely to pay for access if I thought it would be useful to me.
A few months ago, I got the thought in my head that maybe AI would be useful for something simplistic like creating to do lists and helping me to get organized. I was wrong. My first run at it actually worked out pretty well, but it couldn’t maintain. The more that I tried to get it to be creative about my day-to-day activities, the less creative it became. I’m finding myself just writing my own to do lists as I always have.
