Flash Fiction: Sunday Journaling

by Chris McGinty

The blogger signed in and realized that while he had meant to do another one of his world famous (if the couch was the whole world) Sunday Journaling blog posts this Sunday, he had scheduled a post about apples and potatoes. The Sunday Journaling posts were so easy too. Since it’s under the guise of journaling, it’s perfectly ok if it’s not interesting. He put on Nirvana and thought about this problem when a thought… what? Which song? Um, Nirvana. He thought about this problem… what!? I already told you which song. Nirvana by The Cult. Well… ok, that’s probably true. I didn’t put quotes around it, so it suggested the band Nirvana, not the song. That’s on me. I apologize.

He laughed. He never admitted to being wrong about anything, ever. At least, not that anyone seems to remember. They always seem confused when he mentions that he just admits when he’s wrong and moves on, like, “When!?” But it happens. Oh yes, it happens. By this point Nirvana was over. Oops, sorry. By this point “Nirvana” was over and he put on “Big Neon Glitter.” The thought occurred to him again, this time without interruption, that he could just write his Sunday Journaling into his flash fiction for the day. No one would ever notice. Well, he would notice, and if the couch was the whole world, then it meant the whole world would notice.
