I can tell you right now that this is not going to be an interesting blog post. I’m not even sure that I want to try to make it entertaining. I’m that tired. I didn’t get any sleep last night, which is not unheard of for me. Then today, I needed to deal with some minor issues with my vehicles. I did nap for about an hour and a half, but I didn’t even feel like I slept.
What the main problem has been is squeaky and squealing belts. It was to the point the other night that I couldn’t keep delivering because I was so sick of my belts squealing every time I drove forward from the stopped position. I was mainly worried that one of the belts would break while I was delivering if I didn’t get them looked at.
I had to jumpstart what is currently my secondary car, because the battery keeps draining. I try to start it every few days whether I’m driving it or not. The problem is that the battery doesn’t seem to be charging when I start it, so it just keeps draining. I’ve gone to Auto Zone twice now and they say the battery is fine but suspect the alternator might be bad. The battery just doesn’t have enough charge to check the alternator.
Like I said, this isn’t an interesting blog post. They tightened the belts. I’ll have to see if that did the job. I got an oil change while I was there. When I went to pick up the car, I asked them to check the battery and the alternator. It looks like it might actually be the connection wires are bad, so that’s what they’re going to fix and then I’ll have to see if that helps matters.
I haven’t been doing a whole lot of delivering, because I got some money saved up and I’ve been doing some writing, but I won’t be able to sustain that forever. I’m probably going to be doing a lot of delivering this weekend. Maybe I’ll write a boring ass blog post about that too.
Chris McGinty is a delivery driver who likes when the repairs are simple and not costly. He still would like to just not have repairs at all. Is that really too much to ask?
