Games and Design (and more)…

We have been designing games together for many years (and separately for years before that as well). in the last several years we have attempted to get some of those games (and non-games) made.

In 2010 Chris and I created our first real homebrew game called Whimwars, a space battle game based on games you may have played in school with paper and pencils on a sheet of notebook paper, we upgraded the idea and so Whimwars was the first time we created a game that included dice, miniature maps, and even a pencil in a nifty case. We produced about fifty copies of the game and began to sell them online and at the local comic conventions we exhibit at. If you are interested in obtaining a copy of this (dare I say… ‘exclusive’ release) game, shoot me an email. $15 shipped to you.

In 2012 we took our design a step further and developed a board game called Rise of the Rockstar. The game design was dug up from a brain storming session we had involving games back in 2008. We tested and revised the game for a year and a half before hiring artist Jason Chalker to give us some art work to help promote the Kickstarter. In 2013 we launched the Kickstarter but the public wasn’t ready for the awesomeness of Rise of the Rockstar. Chris believes that the game may be more appropriate as a card game (as opposed to a board game). Either way, we have learned much from that project and moved along to our most current game: Zombie Death Force, Go!

In 2013 we began testing a simple card game based on the premise of a Zombie Apocalypse. My main goal was to make the game super simple to learn but relied on you stabbing your opponents in the back at the same time. For this game we got Ben Dunn (of Ninja High School and Marvel Mangaverse fame) in on the art work. Ben is a great guy and produced some nice art. Our first Kickstarter for this game failed. We did it again with and it funded (at a much smaller amount). With that seed money we got the game mass printed in 2022 and continue to sell it on Ebay and at conventions. In 2023 I (Nathan) personally began working on a non-game which I later named ‘Be Prepared!’. It was a card deck that was designed to get you thinking about emergency scenarios and how well or poorly you were prepared for them. Since we had connection with manufactures in China we were able to go back to that well and get it mass produced and in 2024 I began selling it on Amazon and Ebay.
