Flash Fiction: Immortal Species

When it seemed the horizon was expanding. When it seemed the vertical was contracting. When it felt neither could be true at the same time. Well, the truth could only be false when and if taken together.

There is myth and myth makers. There was a hundred reasons why this whole thing should fail, but humankind just kept going on. There were those, and there would always be those, who believed that the end was nearer than we could conceive. Yet those people just kept living on too.

It was like immortality through species rather through individual. Too many people splitting into factions and no one realizing that the win was going to the team.
